Help Desk Technician

As a Help Desk Technician, you will provide remote technical support to a demanding and diverse range of customers from different industries. We are looking for an IT Professional with stellar communication skills who lives and works by these same values to join our growing team. You will assist users with all Technology problems in areas such as phone systems, networking, carrier and software related requests. This is a technical position, with opportunities to learn new applications, VOIP technologies, networking and various server platforms. Your professional development will include fully paid for industry certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Receive requests via email and phone from users experiencing technical issues with telephony products, software, network and or carrier issues and training inquiries on how to use specific applications and features
  • Assist over the phone, or by e-mail to users to diagnose problems and sources of errors; guide users through corrective steps
  • Following-up with users to ensure the problem has been resolved and verifying the quality of work meets Tele-Data standards
  • Contact software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products, to get software patches, or resolve user issues
  • Document and update requests in Tigerpaw our CRM
  • Ability to keep a clean and organized workspace
  • Create and maintain network diagrams using Microsoft Visio
  • Provide assistance in projects programming phone systems and configuring network equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in the field of computer science
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting end users in person or remotely via the telephone, Logmein, GotoAssist, Join.me
  • Experience with basic networking
  • Experience with a Windows Environment and installing software

Required Skills/Competencies

  • Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
  • Knowledge of automation and ticketing tools such as Autotask, Connectwise, Tigerpaw
  • Detail-oriented, possessing excellent analytical skills
  • Displays tact, flexibility, patience, and the ability to handle stressful situations while demonstrating a sense of urgency
  • Ability to independently and proactively communicate issues, priorities, and objectives
  • Convey a professional, presentable appearance, and instill confidence – this position requires working with all level of users up to and including business owners
  • Excellent customer service oriented, verbal, and written communication skills
  • A+, ITIL, Network+, MCP certifications products is a plus

Work Requirements

  • NJ Residents only, Office location is Union, NJ 07083
  • Valid NJ Drivers License
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
